Louise comments that "When the Gulline family shifted into the house it was on the very edge of Melbourne and surrounded by open land. The house had a central corridor. There was a room on each side at the front with a bow window in each, the furniture was very Victorian in style. The windows had wooden venetian blinds. One room housed a couple of small organs which Agnes used. I think she might have played the organ at the church on the corner of Buckley St and Mount Alexander Rd. [St John's Presbyterian]. The other room was a drawing room and was only used for visitors. I spent most of my time over at the playground with my brother, the trains were very fascinating for country kids as well."
